What is UVGI?

UVGI stands for Ultraviolet Germicidal Irradiation (UVGI), which uses short wavelength Ultraviolet C (UV-C) lights to destroy the DNA of micro-organisms by permanently destroying and altering their molecular structure, meaning they can no longer replicate or grow.

UV-C purification effectively destroys 99% of airborne micro-organisms, including:

How Does UVGI Air Purification Work?

As air passes through a UVGI air purification unit, micro-organisms are exposed to an Ultraviolet C (UV-C) light, which effectively destroys their make-up, rendering them harmless. The treatment is up to 99% effective.

UVGI air purifiers can be coupled with your building’s existing HVAC system to ensure the air is fully filtered through the purifier before being recirculated or redirected elsewhere within the building.

How Does UVGI Destroy Covid-19?

Research shows that Covid-19 is 0.12 microns. The Electrostatic filter used in our units can capture particles down to 0.01 micron. Consequently, when viruses pass through the UV-C lights within the unit they completely breakdown and can no longer spread or cause a danger to the occupants within a building.

What is ESP Technology?

ESP uses electrostatic filtration to remove tiny particles from the air. A static charge of around 8,000v is applied to the airstream and particles are collected on a metal plate, which has the opposite electrical potential, therefore stripping particles from the air.
Static force is a low resistance solution to filtering airborne contaminants; therefore, it can enhance the overall performance of your HVAC system.

The air purifiers we select have no requirement for replacement filters. The unit’s internal components are made of metal and are simply cleaned regularly by one of our qualified engineers. The UV-C lamps can be replaced by our engineer during scheduled maintenance.

On larger applications, such as hotels, hospitals, shopping malls and leisure facilities, we can propose a monitoring system providing a local alarm, or a BMS signal identifying a fault.
